Great detail is put into this Bat carving, made by a well known Wounaan Carver.
Exquisitely carved and painted Bats.. Carved from the Tagua Nut Seed. This nut is sustainably harvested from a Palm found in the Darien Jungle. The Tagua nut grows in a cluster and each nut is no more than 2.5”/3”. This seed is also referred to as “Tagua Ivory,” as it has many characteristics as Ivory. In your hand it feels smooth and has a nice weight.
